Particle-filtering fine dust mask re-usable with exhalation valve. For single use. For protection against dusts, smoke and aqueous mists.
The mask can be used for pollutant concentrations up to 10 times the permissible MAK value.
e.g. for protection when working with wood (except oak, beech, exotic woods), hardwood, stone, cement, fibreglass and plastic, quartz, etc. Grinding composite materials, rust, putty, plaster, plastic; cutting, deburring, grinding, drilling metal.
FFP2 - The maximum total leakage is 11 %. The protective effect is at least 94% (particles up to a size of 0.6 µm). A class FFP2 fine dust mask protects against solid and liquid dusts, smoke and mists that are harmful to health. It is suitable for a maximum particle concentration of up to 10 times the occupational exposure limit value (OEL).
NR - Stands for "nonreusable", i.e. the mask is intended for single use only. Single use refers to a shift of 8 hours. Depending on the working conditions, however, the fine dust mask re-usable should be changed earlier (e.g. in high heat or high humidity).
Recommended wearing time: Particle-filtering fine dust mask re-usable without exhalation valve 75 minutes at a time, followed by a 30-minute recovery break; particle-filtering fine dust mask re-usable with exhalation valve 120 minutes at a time, followed by a 30-minute recovery break.
The exhalation valve ensures that breathing resistance is lower: the air can escape from the mask more easily when exhaling, but at the same time no particles enter the mask. For sculpting work, we recommend using disposable fine dust mask re-usable masks with an exhalation valve. With masks without a valve, it can happen that you inhale very forcefully to get enough air to breathe - if the mask does not fit perfectly, you may inhale more harmful fine dust particles than without a mask.
A prerequisite for the reliability of the filter classes is that the fine dust mask re-usable fits very well. Therefore, always make sure that the mask fits snugly all round! If you wear a beard, the protection may therefore be greatly reduced or non-existent.
Disposable masks of filter classes FFP1 to FFP3 are not suitable as protection against vapours and gases.
Protection against Covid-19: FFP2 filter class respirators are used to protect against Covid-19. However, this also applies here: The mask must fit the face perfectly in order to fulfil its protective effect. With filter class FFP2, the protective effect is at least 94% with an optimal fit. However, FFP2 masks with an exhalation valve only serve to protect themselves (protection of the mask wearer). The exhalation valve allows viruses to enter the room air, i.e. other people are not protected. FFP2 masks with an exhalation valve are not permitted in many places for protection against Covid-19 (e.g. airlines).
