Alabaster is also known as the "light of the earth". This material particularly inspires sculptor Corinna Franz. The appreciative approach of including the stone in the creative process is always at the centre of her work. Convex and concave surfaces and lines meet in a free flow and make the material appear light. The alabaster becomes transparent as it is worked. Its full beauty is brought to light by the sunlight.
Corinna Franz teaches this free-flowing way of working in small groups of max. 7 people or in the open studio. In a warm atmosphere, she pays particular attention to the individuality and wishes of the participants. In an open dialogue with the stone, they embark on a journey of discovery to their own personal form of expression. Their own perception is increasingly enhanced and creative decisions are made with growing confidence.
atelierfranz is located approx. 15 km south of Lübeck and is surrounded by a beautiful landscape with old trees, meadows and lakes. Tools and a selection of stones (alabaster, steatite or sand-lime brick) are available. No previous artistic or handicraft training is necessary for any of the courses.
