MORE INFO
Diamont stone surface. With carbide cutting edge on both sides. Cutting edge width 60 mm. Weight 1.3 kg. With ash wood handle.
The carbide stone blade has a 3.3 mm thick carbide plate on each side.
The name Diamont refers to the large hardness of tungsten carbide, the material from which the tool cutting edges are made. Diamont tools do not contain any diamond.
Sculpting tools made of carbide or with carbide inserts are particularly suitable for processing hard types of stone. Carbide tools need to be sharpened less frequently during work because the material is so strong that there is less abrasion than with tools made of forged steel. The carbide cutting edge therefore has a longer service life. However, if carbide tools are ground to a very sharp point or thinly, careful working is required as carbide is a brittle material due to its hardness and can easily break when ground thinly. Levering movements during hammering can also lead to breakage or loosen carbide pins from the steel casing.
