Azzano/Tuscany and Berlin-Schöneberg
Close to the magnificent marble quarries of Carrara, sculptor Peter Rosenzweig and his team of 15 international artists and instructors offer courses in marble sculpture. This year Campo dell'Altissimo is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Many people have been coming to the summer academy again and again for years. Campo offers individual guidance in learning the craft and in developing and strengthening one's own artistic expression in an Italian atmosphere. Beginners are expertly and sensitively supported in creating their first own marble sculpture, while advanced students can take part in special courses to produce larger and more challenging formats from stones in the well-stocked warehouse or order special sizes in advance.
The summer school is open from May to September. The courses are complemented by excursions into the unique world of marble, to quarries and artists' studios. And the Italian way of life is not neglected either.
School classes and student groups also come to the idyllic mountain village of Azzano for marble sculpting workshops lasting one or more weeks. In the winter season, the sculpture courses continue in Berlin, at the Campo studio in Berlin Kreuzberg.
