Concrete casting compound for mixing with water. Weather-resistant, frost-proof, can be coloured.
When hardened, Creastone casting concrete has an authentic concrete look and is ideal for casting sculptures, objects, reliefs and decorative items. The casting compound is ideal for use at home, in schools or leisure facilities.
APPLICATION:
Mix Creastone casting concrete in a ratio of 10 parts by weight powder with 1 part by weight cold water and stir carefully. The cast concrete can be coloured by adding 0.5 - 1.5 % pigment powder to the mixing water (e.g. dark grey, sand-coloured, reddish brown, etc.). Then process the compound immediately. The mixed casting compound can be processed for up to 40 minutes.
A release agent should be used to ensure easy demoulding of the cast object. The release agent can also be used to fix grasses, flowers or ferns to the mould surface. These then leave relief-like structures on the concrete surface after the mould has been poured.
In addition to silicone moulds, other suitable casting moulds include sturdy plastic pots, which can also be placed inside each other to cast flower pots or bowls, for example. To do this, first pour a bottom layer. After approx. 40 minutes, place the inner mould on the bottom layer and weigh it down (e.g. with sand). Then fill the space between the inner and outer mould with the casting concrete. Caution: Moulds with undercuts cannot be demoulded without damaging them!
Demoulding should take place after 24 hours at the earliest. A longer waiting time can make demoulding easier and is recommended for delicate or very large objects, for example. The hardening process is a chemical reaction and can take up to 28 days for Creastone cast concrete, as with all concrete-based materials, whereby the strength continues to increase.
Unevenness or burrs can be removed mechanically after demoulding using coarse sandpaper. The Creastone objects should then be allowed to dry for a further 2 - 3 days before the surface is painted or varnished. As not all paints or varnishes are compatible with untreated concrete surfaces, it is generally advisable to apply a primer, e.g. with CREARTEC casting compound primer. The surface quality of painted Creastone objects in particular is retained for longer if they are completely sealed, including the plinth and floor surface, e.g. with UV coating varnish or weather protection impregnation.
