Aluminium oxide with stearate coating. For sanding wood. For hook-and-loop backing-pad with Velcro system. 50 mm. Grit 80, 120, 180, 240. Packed in 5 pieces or 25 pieces per grit size.
Small grinding wheels, therefore good for sanding hard-to-reach areas in wood. For use with flex shank, straight grinder, PROXXON angle grinder and RODAC die grinder (compressed air). Suitable for the ARBORTECH mini carver 2.0. Suitable e.g. for FLEXIPADS hook-and-loop backing-pads.
The excellent abrasive paper with high-quality aluminium oxide grain is coated with stearate and therefore has a long service life. The stearate coating also reduces dust build-up and clogging of the abrasive. The paper backing is reinforced with fibre fabric and is also very durable for small curves.
Aluminium oxide abrasives have a coarser grain than silicon carbide abrasives and are therefore particularly suitable for sanding wood. They also allow a higher contact pressure.
Hook-and-loop backing-pads with a Velcro system are extremely practical, as the grinding wheels can be changed quickly and easily. At the same time, they have a very good grip. To ensure that the hook-and-loop backing-pad retains its adhesive force for as long as possible, it is important to pay attention to both the speed of the machine and the pressure exerted on the machine when sanding. If the speed is too high and the pressure too great, high temperatures can occur, causing the plastic loops of the hook and loop disc to burn, especially at the edge. As a result, the hook-and-loop sanding discs have less and less grip on the hook-and-loop backing-pad. Depending on the type of stone, excessively high temperatures can also cause grinding damage to the stone or, in the case of woodworking, to the wood.
