Ideal for beginners!

Set with 3 hand-forged KAPRA quality chisels made of forged steel with mallet head, carver's mallet, hornbeam, sharpening block, canvas pillow for working soft stone such as alabaster, soft limestone and serpentine or harder soapstone.

The set contains:

1 KAPRA claw chisel, Ø 10 mm, 12 mm wide, 3 teeth
1 KAPRA sculptor's mallet, hornbeam, Ø 10 mm, 20 mm wide
1 KAPRA flat chisel, Ø 10 mm, 12 mm wide
1 KAPRA canvas pillow 550 g made of oiled sculptor's mallet, hornbeam
1 KAPRA diamond sharpening block grit 220
1 KAPRA canvas cushion

The canvas pillow made of firm cotton measures 40 x 40 cm and is open on one side. Sand is filled into the fabric bag supplied and the bag is closed tightly. The cushion is used to fix and stabilise the workpiece on the sculptor's table or a table.

The handy diamond sharpening block has a diamond surface of 70 x 40 mm. Thanks to its small size, the sharpening block can always be carried with you and is quickly to hand. To sharpen chisels (point chisels, claw chisels, flat chisels, sculpting chisels, lettering chisels, etc.), place the tool at as flat an angle as possible and pull it over the diamond surface with only light pressure. The diamond surface will be damaged if too much pressure is applied or if the grinding angle is too steep and the tips of the chisels bore into the diamond surface. A very good grinding effect is also achieved with lower pressure and a shallower grinding angle.

The KAPRA chisels made of forged steel are individually forged by hand in the small traditional forge EID in Metten, Bavaria. They are ideal for working medium-hard stone up to the hardness of limestone and marble. The special quality of the chisels lies in the optimum hardness of the tip and cutting edge - for a long service life of the sculpting tools and great stability at the same time. In an interview with bildhau, the owner of the forge Reiner Eid explains what is special about his tools and how they are made.

KAPRA chisels with a mallet head are particularly suitable for striking with a carver's mallet, hornbeam. KAPRA chisels with a mallet head have a forged head whose wide shape serves to protect the striking tool. The wood of the mallet is less damaged and therefore wears out more slowly.
