Steel thickness 0.8 mm. For smoothing wooden surfaces, cleaning glue joints, removing layers of varnish or levelling out unevenness.
The draw shaves are ideal for precise and low chip removal: A draw shave can be used in a similar way to a planer by cutting off protruding wood fibres.
A special burnisher is used to draw a burr on one edge of the scraper that is sharp enough to remove wood very finely and smoothly. If the burr has become blunt, a new burr can be produced with a burnisher.
