MORE INFO

Latex milk pre-vulcanised. Natural rubber with low ammonia content and medium modulus.

For moulding, also for body parts. For the production of one-piece, elastic, flexible moulds. For the production of objects, masks etc. Pre-vulcanised, hardens at room temperature.

Due to its high elasticity, particularly suitable for the production of one-piece and therefore seamless casting moulds. Particularly suitable for moulding plaster or wax objects. Casting compounds such as polyester or other resins can attack the natural material, which leads to rapid embrittlement and a short service life of the mould.

When hardening, the colour changes from white to a skin-like colour. Also reacts with light and heat after curing, i.e. the mould can change and the material can darken and become brittle. The service life of latex moulds is limited. Can be coloured with pigments. Latex shrinks when drying.

APPLICATION:

Stir latex thoroughly before use. Proceed carefully to avoid air bubbles.

Apply the first layer of latex thinly with a brush to avoid bubbles forming between the latex and the mould. Apply further layers with a brush, dab on or pour/dip. Depending on the size of the master mould, 4 - 20 coats are required. Allow to dry before applying the next coat. Drying time per coat approx. 3 hours depending on room temperature and thickness. By adding latex thickener to the latex milk, the compound can be levelled after 2 - 3 coats. Allow to dry for approx. 24 hours, depending on the room temperature and thickness of the layer. Final thickness of the mould after application of all layers at least 2 mm.

To prevent parts of the mould from "sticking" together after demoulding, they can be lightly rubbed with talcum powder. Please check compatibility with further processing of the latex mould beforehand.

Before moulding body parts, remove hair from the corresponding parts of the body if necessary.

Natural material that is mixed with ammonia for preservation, therefore odour development during processing. It is best to work in well-ventilated rooms.
