Very versatile, ready-to-use, highly pigmented liquid glaze for painting and flat glazing. Firing range 999°C (Cone 06) - 1305°C (Cone 10).

Stroke & Coat® glazes are particularly versatile, highly pigmented, viscous glazes, non-toxic and food-safe, ideal for potters and visual artists, studios and classrooms. The glazes can be used for eating and drinking utensils.

Stroke & Coat® glazes can be used on biscuit earthenware and stoneware as well as on raw, moist or leather-hard clay. The glazes can be applied with a brush, sponge or paint bottle and can be used for a variety of techniques, such as wash or watercolour style, majolica, sgraffito, screen printing, etc. The liquid colour matches the fired colour, so that the final result can be easily imagined even before firing.

The glazes have been formulated to mature at Cone 06 (999°C)/Cone 05 (1046°C). Most Stroke & Coat® glazes retain their colour at higher temperatures, especially reds, oranges, yellows, greens and blues. Their performance at Cone 6 (1222°C) is noted on each individual product label with any changes.

Firing temperature 1000°C (Cone 06): Translucent when applying one coat of Stroke & Coat Butter Me Up, further coats increase the opacity. Two to three coats are recommended for full coverage and a full-surface glaze. Creates a glossy finish when applied over the entire surface, even without additional clear glaze.

Firing temperature 1220°C (Cone 6): Semi-transparent. The colour lightens slightly.

EUH208: Contains 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one (CAS No. 2634-33-5). May cause an allergic reaction.

The colour samples shown were fired flat on a white clay body. The choice of clay body, the thickness of the glaze application, the firing process and the temperature all influence the firing result. It is generally advisable to test the glazes on your own clay and in your own kiln before use.

Please note that the manufacturer's information on the food suitability of the glazes does not replace any necessary certification of the finished ceramic products for commercial use.
