FOR REGENERATION:
A prerequisite for successful regeneration is that the respective OBB sand is not mixed with any other type of sand.
In addition, the regeneration of oil-bonded sands depends on how much the sand has burnt out. After pouring, a simple loosening and homogenisation of the sand is sufficient. This is best done with a sand slinger. Depending on the size and wall thickness of the casting, the sand loses plasticity and/or compressive strength after repeated use. Regeneration in a pan grinder or intensive mixer is then necessary:
Regeneration of plasticity: Addition of approx. 0.1% OBB oil
Regeneration of compressive strength Addition of approx. 0.1% OBB paste
Mix briefly - approx. 2 minutes - in a pan grinder or intensive mixer. Optimum loosening is achieved by subsequent use of a sand centrifuge.
