Due to delivery bottlenecks of the manufacturer, it may happen that we replace individual carving irons with similar sizes.
This selection offers basic equipment for carving medium-sized sculptures (approx. 30 - 80 cm). When creating the rough mould, the wood is removed across the grain with a large gouge. The flats are created using large flat irons. The gouge is used to work out the details. We recommend a 550 g or 700 g chisel for the larger irons.
As an extended set, we recommend the 10-piece set (item 162090010 or item 162090011).
Gouges are versatile carving tools: They can be used for carving wood, from removing a lot of material for the first rough shape to the fine finishing of details. You can use gouges to shape wood freely, carve out convexes and concaves and design surfaces.gouges are available in straight, curved, curved and reverse curved shapes. PFEIL gouges are available in many cutting edge widths and with different stitches. The stitch indicates the depth of the curvature of the gouge and is labelled with numbers - from 2, very flat irons, to 11, strongly curved irons.
Occasionally, the manufacturer may experience delivery bottlenecks for the dimensions of individual bars. In such cases, we reserve the right to supply a neighbouring size. If this does not meet your expectations, you can of course exchange it.
