The wood sculpting set is optionally available with hornbeam flakes in 550 g (item no. 162090011) or 700 g (item no. 162090010).
This selection offers solid basic equipment for working on medium-sized sculptures (30-80 cm). When creating the rough shape, the wood is removed across the grain with a large gouge (gouge edge 9/25). The flats are created with large flat irons (stitches 3/30 and 2/20). The small gouge edges (stitches 5/8, 5/20, 7/10, 11/4 11/10) are used to create a variety of details. Tapered edges are cut cleanly with the gouge foot (stitch 12/8) and the angled flat iron (stitch 1s/12).

Gouges are versatile carving tools: When carving wood, they are used for everything from removing a lot of material for the first rough shape to the fine finishing of details. You can use gouges to shape wood in a free form, carve out convexes and concaves and design surfaces.gouges are available in straight, curved, curved and reverse curved shapes. PFEIL gouges are available in many cutting edge widths and with different stitches. The stitch indicates the depth of the curvature of the gouge and is labelled with numbers - from 2, very flat irons, to 11, strongly curved irons.
