Flexible moulds made of polyurethane rubber

Flexible moulds can be made from polyurethane rubber. With a shore hardness of 40 or 60, these moulds are significantly stronger than most silicone moulds. This can make the construction of a support mould unnecessary, depending on the type of object to be moulded and especially when moulding smaller objects. Due to the lower flexibility of the material, it is best to mould flat objects without too many details or undercuts. PUR rubber is very suitable for master models made of, for example, concrete, gypsum, metal or resin.

Since polyurethane rubber has better mechanical and chemical properties than silicone, moulds made of this material can be used very well for casting with abrasion-intensive materials such as concrete, but also for gypsum casting or casting with artificial resins.
