The sculpture hall opened its doors in January 2005. The 800 m² hall offers spacious, bright rooms and studios for sculpting. The course leaders and instructors are freelance artists who have studied art. They create a professional standard in the courses and seminars and teach the artistic aspects and technical methods within sculpture. In addition to manual tools, pneumatic tools and machines are also available for specialised courses. A good selection of sculpting stones is available.
In the evening and weekend courses, basic working methods are learnt and individual design approaches are supported. Stone and wood sculpture form the foundation in the field of sculpture. The three-year part-time basic sculpture course is a systematic training programme for the fields of sculpture and plastic art and relates to current and traditional topics within the art of sculpture. The relevant working methods and content relating to sculpture and art are taught in monthly seminars. The topics are stone and wood sculpture, portrait, nude and free sculpture in clay and plaster, design and casting techniques, thematic final work with exhibition and certificate, drawing and art history.
