Blade thickness 0.9 mm. Single-toothed universal saw without blade back for heavy-duty work. Carpenter's saw and beam saw. For deep cuts and larger diameters. With replaceable blade.
The large Kataba Kariwaku hand saw from SHARK SAW with traditional wood/bamboo handle has a very long 330 mm saw blade with a strong material thickness of 0.9 mm and a very coarse standard toothing of 10 TPI (teeth per inch) with a relatively narrow blade. This makes it ideal for heavy-duty work, deep cuts and larger diameters. The Kariwaku can be used for a wide range of cutting work, especially cross-cutting. The Kariwaku is very good as a general carpentry saw and as a beam saw. The large Kataba works easily and quickly and offers excellent sawing results. Also suitable for thick and damp wood.
The saw blade has induction-hardened and polished teeth ground on three sides for cross-cuts from 68 to 71 HRC (Hardness Rockwell Cone) and guarantees a very long service life.
Japanese pull saw (Nokogiri) of the Kataba type. Kataba saws have a long, single-toothed blade with a short, unreinforced blade back. A Kataba is particularly suitable for long, deep and very precise cuts without jamming, and therefore for all work that cannot be carried out with other Japanese saws such as Dozuki and Ryoba. To prevent the blade from twisting so much during sawing, the blade thickness of a Kataba is generally greater than that of a comparable Dozuki.
