SHARK SAW Japanese folding saw Kataba 240 "GUNMETAL":

The Shark Saw GUNMETAL Series was developed for the professional user. This strong and foldable branch saw is suitable for all sawing work in the countryside. The blade of this genuine Japanese pruning saw cuts very aggressively, but with a clean cut that is indispensable for pruning work. This pruning saw is also very suitable for wet wood. With a 240 mm saw blade, even thicker branches can be sawn through with ease and a chainsaw quickly becomes superfluous.

The saw blade has a PTFE coating (black) that effectively repels rust and resin. The PTFE coating also reduces friction, making the sawing movement feel very light.

The teeth of the Kataba folding saw from SHARK SAW are induction-hardened to 68-71 HRC and guarantee a long service life. The ergonomically shaped soft grip handle makes the pull saw easy to hold.

This is a Japanese pull saw (Nokogiri) of the Kataba type. Kataba saws have a long, single-toothed blade with a short, unreinforced blade back. A Kataba is particularly suitable for long, deep and very precise cuts without jamming, which cannot be made with other Japanese saws such as Dozuki and Ryoba. To prevent the blade from twisting so much during sawing, the blade thickness of a Kataba is generally greater than that of a comparable Dozuki.
