TORMEK sharpening system – the sanding machine for optimally sharpened tools

For many years, TORMEK wet grinders have been the leading tool grinders. The special quality of these devices lies in the fact that the grindstone is water-cooled and has a large diameter, which enables a lower speed. This means that the cutting edges of the tools to be sharpened cannot become too hot and retain their hardness. Secondly, the TORMEK sanding machines have devices that guide the respective tool in a controlled manner so that each grind can be repeated for each tool. A dressing diamond enables the sharpening stone to be smoothed flat again and aligned perfectly round. This is what makes the use of many sharpening devices possible.

Gentle tool sharpening

The sharpening devices also ensure that sharpening times are kept as short as possible and that as little material as possible is removed from the tool being sharpened. This helps to maintain the service life of your carving tools and blades.

Solid and well thought-out design

The TORMEK sanding machine is solidly built. The main shaft is made of stainless steel, which prevents rust formation and wear. Steel particles are attracted by a magnet built into the water tank, keeping the grindstone clean and efficient. The rotary tool is guided by the universal support, just like the grinding jigs, and is easy to operate.

TORMEK T-8 or TORMEK T-4 – which model for which requirements?

With the TORMEK T-8, the long-established Swedish company has launched a professional wet sanding system as the successor to the tried-and-tested TORMEK T-7, which is even more precise and solid than its predecessor. For home and hobby use, we can recommend the slightly smaller diameter TORMEK T-4 as the successor to the TORMEK T-3.

The high quality of TORMEK sanding machines is also reflected in the long warranty: The T-8 comes with a 7-year warranty, even for commercial use. The T-4 comes with a 7-year warranty, and a 2-year warranty for commercial use or use in training programmes.

Accessories & accessory kits for all sharpening requirements

For sharpening straight cutting edges such as plane irons and chisels, for sharpening straight or offset gouges: The adjustable universal support serves as a carrier for a wide range of sharpening guides, making precise sharpening even easier. The cutting edge angle can always be set precisely. We recommend the special leather honing wheel for gouges and v-parting tools.

The TNT-708 wood turner's set contains other helpful accessories such as devices for moulding tubes or profile tubes, for example. All carving tools and chisels can be sharpened with the woodturning package. The HTK-706 house and home pack contains sharpening accessories for knives, scissors, drawshaves, hatchets, axes and short tools.
