Silicone M4630 Food and concrete A+B
.
.
Two-component silicone with polyaddition cross-linking. Heat resistant up to 250 °C. Component A (900 g) + component B (100 g). Food-safe. For the production of flexible moulds for food processing, also for baking moulds.
The silicone M4630 A+B is suitable for contact with food, is FDA-compliant and fulfils the BfR recommendations. M4630 can therefore be used to produce moulds for foodstuffs. Silicone moulds made from M4630 are also heat-resistant up to around 250 °C and can therefore also be used as baking moulds up to this temperature.
The silicone has very good flowability and hardens quickly at room temperature with virtually no shrinkage. The curing process can be significantly accelerated by applying heat. Moulds made from M4630 are characterised by a low Shore A hardness and high tear resistance. The silicone has excellent resistance to concrete. It can also be used very well for casting resins.
The high flow and tear resistance as well as the low Shore A hardness ensure that concrete casting moulds for models with deep undercuts and moulds for very precise copies can be produced from casting resins in particular. M4630 has excellent long-term stability of the mechanical properties of the vulcanisate.
Processing
We recommend stirring both component A (silicone) and component B (silicone curing agent) thoroughly before mixing (avoid bubble formation as far as possible). Then mix 100 parts of component A with 10 parts of component B very thoroughly, e.g. using an electric mixer on a low setting (to largely avoid the formation of air bubbles). If possible, de-aerate the mixture in a vacuum at 30 - 50 mbar (in a vacuum, the mixture expands four to five times and bubbles form on the surface. These bubbles gradually disappear again and after about 5 minutes the mass has its original volume again).
