more info

Two-component silicone modelling compound with polycondensation cross-linking. Component A. For moulding vertical surfaces. For large and light moulds with high detail accuracy.

Please remember to order the silicone curing agent for silicone modelling clay (component B, art. 312541100) separately!

Thanks to its special formulation, polycondensation modelling silicone can be used to produce large, lightweight moulds directly on vertical surfaces. Even the smallest details can be copied. The silicone modelling clay enables the production of moulds of any type and size and is particularly suitable for casting objects and sculptures made of plaster, resin, wax and soap.

Thanks to its special properties, silicone modelling clay has been used by sculptors and foundries in Pietrasanta for many years.

APPLICATION

Wet your hands with water before mixing. Mix the two components in a weight ratio of 100:5 (e.g. 100 g modelling clay (base product) + 5 g cross-linking agent) vigorously and carefully with your hands until a homogeneous and streak-free mixture is obtained. As soon as the modelling clay has been mixed, it can be applied directly to the model (depending on the texture, use a separating or blocking agent if necessary).

Please ensure that you adhere exactly to the mixing ratio in order to guarantee the final properties of the modelling clay. The quantity of 5 parts by weight of crosslinker must not be exceeded. It is possible to use a lower proportion of crosslinker (< 3-4 %) to extend the curing time.

For economical use of the modelling compound, it is recommended to make a mould with a maximum thickness of 1 cm. If it is necessary to reinforce or supplement the silicone layer in some areas, it is possible to apply another layer within 24 hours after the first silicone layer has cured. When doing so, make sure that the surfaces are dust-free and dry.

Please also note that the room temperature affects the processing and curing time: If the room temperature is higher than 23 °C, the processing and curing time is reduced (at 40 °C, the time is approximately halved). If the temperature is below 23 °C, the processing and curing time can be considerably longer.
