After a brief introduction by master stone sculptor Alexander Schwarz to the design possibilities, material properties and use of the tools, the work on the stone begins immediately. Mostly the beautiful Main sandstone, which is very easy to work with, is used. However, other stones such as marble, diabase or limestone are also possible. This results in unique works of art in abstract or figurative form. Simple templates are available for those who are undecided. No machines or compressed air are used. This is the only way to create a harmonious atmosphere within the sculpture group. The calming power of the stone can be experienced.
Master Schwarz is on hand to help and advise each participant throughout the course. If things get stuck, he sometimes takes over the tools to encourage participants and give them a new perspective on their work. This means that his courses are also suitable for beginners.
The courses take place from spring to autumn in the workshop grounds. If the weather is bad or there is too much sun, large open tents are used. In addition to the fixed course dates, individual courses for small groups are also possible.
