The TORMEK Diamond Grinding Wheel Fine DF-250 can be used universally, as it is fast with a 600 grit and ensures efficient stock removal and a smoothly ground surface in equal measure.
The DF-250 Diamond Wheel Fine can be used to sharpen all materials, including carbide, steel and ceramic. The extra fine diamond grinding wheel ensures a mirror-like surface of the grinding bevel, e.g. on carving tools for wood sculpting and knives. If a tool is to be given a new edge or the shape is to be changed, the first step is carried out with a different grinding wheel, the DE-250 diamond disc then enables the shiny finish.
The advantage of TORMEK diamond grinding wheels over grindstones is that they retain their shape - the diameter of the wheel always remains the same at all points, meaning that the same setting can always be used for the different tools in the sharpening devices without the need for readjustment. This is particularly interesting for all users who frequently sharpen the same tools. This makes working particularly quick and easy.
The basis for the TORMEK Diamond Wheels is a precision-manufactured steel frame coated with electrolytically nickel-plated diamond powder. The Diamonds Wheels not only have a diamond coating on the classic grinding surface, but also on the flat outer side of the grinding wheels, which can also be used for sharpening. This allows perfectly flat cutting edges and chamfers to be produced, for example, which would otherwise have a slightly concave shape. This application is particularly suitable for sharpening smaller tools such as chip carving knives, castors, gouges and carpenter chisels. The easiest way to sharpen on the side is with the MB-100 multi-holder for support and optimum control during the sharpening process.
All TORMEK diamond grinding discs are very durable and offer consistent sanding performance. For an even longer service life, the diamond wheels are supplied with 150 ml ACC-150 rust protection concentrate for use during wet grinding: To do this, add 10 ml of concentrate to 250 ml of water (corresponds to approx. 4 %). Dry grinding is possible with the diamond grinding wheels, but grinding with water is recommended to extend the service life of the wheels and achieve a better, smoother grinding result.
