MORE INFO
Device for sharpening plane irons and carpenter chisels at a 90° angle, for example. For tools with a width of up to 77 mm.
Chisels and plane irons can easily be ground extremely sharp and precise using the SE-77 square edge jig for straight cutting edges - the tools can achieve greater sharpness than when new. To compensate for small deviations in the tool design, the device has adjustment screws for fine adjustment. The fine adjustment is also helpful if the tool is very narrow or the blade is slightly twisted. The cutting edges can also be slightly rounded to prevent forged modelling tools from scratching the wood when planing. The SE-77 square edge jig for straight blades can also be used to clamp and sharpen conical or tapered tools, e.g. Japanese chisels.
The device is held on the universal support by safety stops so that the tool cannot slip off the disc. This also means there is no risk of injuring fingers when sharpening.
