When is a wet grinding & polishing machine useful?

Wet sanding and polishing angle polishers are particularly well suited for working on , flat surfaces or only slightly curved convex and concave surfaces. For an optimal grinding and polishing result, it is important that there is always water between the abrasive and the stone at all points during processing. This can be difficult with strong curvatures. For smaller surfaces there are also abrasives with a smaller diameter.

When you grind or polish with a diamond wheel, wet grinding has the great advantage that any dust that arises is immediately washed away so that the abrasiveness of the grinding diamonds can be used optimally. This makes the grinding process faster and preciser. This is particularly true for the processing of granite surfaces. When wet grinding, there is virtually no risk of burning the granite due to the constant cooling.

Wet sanders and angle polishers require special power supply protection. The FLEX brand machines therefore either have a personal protection circuit breaker (PRCD) or have a contour plug for connection to an isolating transformer. The isolating transformer is a device that is hung between the socket and the machine and provides separate circuits to ensure as much safety as possible when working. When buying a wet grinding and polishing machine, therefore, make sure that the connection options fit you.
