Thomas Konwiarz, a freelance wood sculptor, has been giving weekend workshops in wood sculpture in the countryside between Bremen and Hamburg for several years. The workshops take place in a small group in an informal atmosphere in his studio or outside if the weather is fine. No previous experience is required. The starting material can be chosen from a wood store or you can bring your own.
After an introduction to the special features of the various materials and how to use the tools, he will help you to get started and get a feel for three-dimensionality. The main aim is to awaken the creativity within the participant. The direct intervention in the material - initially without a binding formal objective - is taught; the realisation of own ideas is supported under artistic and technical aspects.
