The milling attachments are suitable for use with various milling machines, flex shanks, angle grinders, straight grinders and drill grinders. Please make sure that the pin thicknesses and receptacles match your devices. Many tools also have interchangeable collets in variable sizes.

Mill bits made of forged steel, carbide & corundum

Milling heads and pin burs made of forged steel, carbide and corundum (aluminium oxide) can be found at bildhau in many shapes and sizes: The very high quality steel milling heads from MILANI are carefully forged by hand and are suitable for softer types of stone up to softer marble.

The carbide milling heads from TOOL FACTORY have an excellent cutting geometry. They also remove harder rock well and lead to a smooth result. You can shape well with the coarser grits and grind with the finer ones. The serrated surface of the cutters results in a very fine grind.

Silicon carbide stone burrs (aluminium oxide) are ideal for working on harder stones, such as marble. Corundum is a very hard material that almost comes close to diamond.

Diamond cutters & diamond grinding discs

Diamond cutters and diamond grinding discs can be divided into three different types, depending on how the diamond is bonded. This results in various possible applications:

In galvanically coated diamond cutters, the diamond particles are applied to the surface of the cutter or the grinding disc. Electroplated diamond cutters are particularly suitable for machining softer and medium-hard, low-abrasive stones up to a Mohs hardness of about 5 (harder marble). Due to the concentrated arrangement of the diamonds, the removal of these types of stone is fast and effective with a good service life of the cutters. Machining very hard or highly abrasive stones (e.g. sandstone), on the other hand, would quickly blunt the cutters so that they could no longer be used productively. Electroplated grinding wheels are available with different grit sizes.

With sintered diamond cutters, the diamond particles are bound in metal, i.e. they are not visible at first glance. When working with the cutters and roughing wheels, metal is continuously rubbed off, so that new, very sharp diamond particles gradually come to the surface. The cutters thus remain very sharp for a long time, they virtually re-sharpen themselves. In order for this principle to work properly, sintered cutters are mainly used for hard and medium to highly abrasive stones, i.e. also sandstone. Weakly abrasive stones such as marble cannot be worked so well with them, as it can happen that too little metal is removed during the work and the cutters become correspondingly blunt. Sintered diamond cutters are available with different hard bonds for different types of stone.

In addition to sintered and electroplated roughing or mincing wheels, there are also vacuum-brazed cutters. Here, too, the diamond particles are applied to the surface, but in a different process. The bond between the diamond particles is very strong, so vacuum-brazed diamond grinding discs are also suitable for very hard stones. They also withstand greater heat development.
