CORAP grindstones are synthetically produced sharpening stones made from special corundum bonds. Corundum is in turn a mineral, an aluminium oxide. Synthetic grindstones have different bond strengths of the abrasive particles, which make up the special properties of the grindstone. Unlike natural stones, synthetically produced grindstones have clearly defined grit sizes  Arkansas artificial stones are in no way inferior to natural stones. CORAP grindstones can be used as oil stones or for dry grinding, Arkansas artificial stones as oil or water stones.

Diamond sharpening stones or sharpening blocks are bonded surfaces with diamond particles that are mounted on wood, stone or metal. There are also different grit sizes. Diamond sharpening stones are perfect for coarser grinding work, for example if you have nicks in your wooden tools. Working with diamond grindstones is very quick and easy.
