If you want to carve wood with a hand-held machine, you can use a wide variety of devices. The advantage of machine carving over carving by hand is that end grain in particular can be worked very precisely and easily: The stroke of the carving machines is very fine, usually much finer than by hand, so that the fibres can be cut very precisely

Wood carving with the PICCHIO or Mini PICCHIO

PICCHIO and Mini PICCHIO are electric hammers with which you can work both stone and wood. With the PICCHIO you can use MILANI gouges, for example, but with the appropriate adapters you can also convert any ARROW hand carving tool. You can find more information about PICCHIO and Mini PICCHIO here.

Wood carving with compressed air

If you have a  compressor  you can also work wood very well with compressed air. We particularly recommend the pneumatic hammers from BAVARIA with a fine blow. The BAVARIA pneumatic hammers are available with a holder for 12.5 mm end pieces so that you can use the carving irons from MILANI, for example. With the appropriate adapters, you can also convert many other hand carving tools, e.g. from PFEIL, for use with compressed air.

PROXXON carving device

The electrically operated small and lightweight carving tool from PROXXON, which is supplied directly with matching carving tools, is very suitable for fine work. The PROXXON motorised carving tool is also very practical for linocuts.
