Burrs that occur during sharpening are effectively removed and the cutting edge bevels are polished at the same time for an optimum sharpness of the cutting tools. For best results, the PA-70 honing compound should always be used every time a leather honing wheel is used. The stripping paste moistens the leather - with each application it becomes softer and more effective, the cutting tools sharper. One application is sufficient for approx. 5 to 10 tools. The stripping paste contains micro-abrasives and polishing components (aluminium oxide, petroleum distillate, ammonia), the average grain size is 3 micrometres.
APPLICATION:
Before switching on the machine, apply a thin strip of PA-70 honing compound to the leather honing wheel. Turn the honing disc by hand. Then switch on the machine and spread the stripping paste on the leather by pressing the tool lightly against the disc. Allow the paste to penetrate the leather.
Before using for the first time, new leather honing wheels should first be impregnated with the light machine oil supplied. This gives the leather the right texture and allows it to absorb the stripping paste well.
When working in dry conditions, it may be necessary to impregnate the honing disc again after a while with a few drops of oil before applying the honing paste. Do not allow the stripping paste to dry out on the leather honing wheel. Apply more oil if necessary.
