MORE INFO
Two-component silicone with polycondensation cross-linking. Component A for silicone curing agent RTV-3081-R or RTV-3081-VF (component B). Highly elastic and highly tear-resistant industrial-grade silicone. For moulding and filling.
Please remember to order the crosslinker RTV-3081-R or RTV-3081-VF separately!
For casting and filling. Casting compound with low shrinkage and self-releasing compared to many materials for detailed moulding of objects with complicated surfaces and strong undercuts. Moulds made from the material can be subjected to high stresses due to their excellent tear and tear propagation resistance. The high ductility allows one-piece moulds where multi-part moulds would otherwise be necessary and easy demoulding of even complex parts. Can be moulded or filled by adding thixotropic agent (silicone thickener). The most common casting materials are plaster, polyurethane casting resin or polyester casting resin. Polycondensation curing silicone.
Application:
Stir silicone compound well before use. Carefully mix silicone rubber RTV-3481 (component A) with silicone curing agent RTV-3081-R (component B) or RTV-3081-VF (component B, faster curing) in a weight ratio of 100:5. Always measure exact proportions, preferably using a digital scale. The curing time can be shortened if necessary by adding a higher proportion of silicone crosslinker. At a lower room temperature, the curing time mentioned below is extended (at approx. 4 - 5 degrees less, the curing time is approx. 4 - 5 times longer). To shorten the curing time again, more crosslinker can also be added if necessary (up to approx. 7.5 %). The silicone can be thickened by adding thixotropic agent and then levelled out.Clean the surface of the object to be moulded before taking the impression and, if necessary, pre-treat with a release agent depending on the surface. If the object is moulded with silicone, pour slowly so that no bubbles form. Otherwise, apply the (thickened) silicone in several thin layers. Do not apply the next layer until the previous layer has dried enough to leave a fingerprint. Add thixotropic agent for thicker coats.
