Dispersion for the production of a metallic surface made of metal. Basis for further treatment with CREARTEC ARTIDEE oxidizing medium for the production of oxidised surfaces such as verdigris and patina look on non-metallic and metallic materials. Dispersion on an aqueous basis, solvent-free.
The CREARTEC oxidation system can be used to give sculptures, mouldings, objects and items of all kinds and made from a wide variety of materials a new, authentic surface appearance: By applying a metal dispersion, which is then treated with an oxidizing medium, rust, verdigris and patina surfaces can be created in a wide variety of colours.
In order to create chip-grit and patina surfaces, the objects are first coated with metal primer. The metal primer dispersion contains fine, powdered precious metal and is available in different variants.
Metal primer adheres to almost all rough and absorbent substrates. Smooth surfaces must first be pre-treated with CREARTEC Universal Primer, e.g. objects made of plastic, glass, porcelain, metal, raw ceramics, glazed ceramics, painted surfaces, polystyrene, synthetic textiles. For objects made of plaster, concrete, cement and ceramic compounds as well as other materials with porous surfaces , pre-treatment with CREARTEC casting compound primer is recommended to close any pores and level out any unevenness.
Objects with many small details or ornaments that should remain clearly visible are also suitable for the design with metal primer and the oxidation effects verdigris and patina, as the oxidation has a fine and elegant effect. Rustic rust effects, on the other hand, are particularly suitable for flat objects, for which a coating with iron primer is required.
APPLICATION:
1. depending on the material,pre-treat the surface with CREARTEC universal primer or casting compound primer and allow to dry.
2. apply metal primer dispersion evenly to the object with a brush. Allow the dispersion to dry for approx. 60 - 80 minutes.
3. the surface can then be treated with CREARTEC oxidising medium for further design.
The oxidising medium can be applied immediately after the metal primer has dried, but also after a week. The verdigris or patina effect is achieved when the oxidising agent dries on the object within eight hours of application.
Material consumption approx. 70 - 80 g/sqm, depending on the layer thickness applied.
Effect of various oxidising agents on metal primer (colouring depends on the metal primer colour, we recommend doing a test first):
