What makes forged steel chisels?

Forged steel chisels can be provided with very sharp edges and tips. In addition, they can be made with a lower cutting angle. This makes forged steel chisels particularly suitable for working crystalline rocks such as marble: The chisels can be set at a flatter angle when striking, so that you preserve the characteristic crystal structure of the stone.

Refine forged steel chisels regularly

To maintain the sharpness of forged steel chisels, they must be regularly re-sharpened during work, e.g. quite simply by hand with a diamond sharpening block . If you have used your tools intensively over a long period of time, the forged steel chisels can be reforged to restore the tip to optimum sharpness. Your tools will then be like new! Just ask us about our forging service.

Hammerhead or mallet head?

When choosing your chisels, please take into account whether you want to work with a carver's mallet, hornbeam or a metal mallet. For working with a mallet please choose chisels with a mallet head, for working with the mason's hammer accordingly chisel with hammerhead.
