The versatile device provides a larger contact surface than the universal support and can be adjusted to sharpen different tools. The grinding support is ideal for scrapers, for example, which often have a large angle, making sharpening difficult to control. The large support surface allows the tool to be brought firmly and securely to the grinding wheel. The hole for attaching the backing pad has a special wedge shape, which increases the closing force by up to 250 % compared to a round hole. With the patented TORMEK TorLock design, the backing pad can be fixed immediately at the selected angle.
The SVD-110 support can be used both with and against the direction of rotation of the grinding wheel. For sharpening draw shaves, the support can also be positioned so that the flat side of the grinding wheel is used for sharpening. The SVD-110 grinding support makes it possible to sharpen many tools that have unusual cutting edge angles or do not fit into any other device.
