MORE INFO

Two-component elastomer polyurethane system, hardness 85 Shore A, for moulding and casting. Flexible and fast curing. For making moulds, e.g. for casting synthetic resin, plaster, concrete.

1000 g + 1000 g.

The PUR rubber PT-Flex 85 was specially developed for prototyping and modelling applications. The two-component polyurethane system is ideal for casting decorative objects, production parts, tools, models, patterns, duplicates of master moulds and much more. By adding pigments for synthetic resins, PT Flex 85 parts can be coloured very well to cast objects in all colours.

APPLICATION

Seal models with porous surfaces, e.g. made of wood, plaster, stone, earthenware or masonry, before moulding (e.g. with several layers of release wax, release soap or PVA release agent) and apply release agent (e.g. PVA release agent). Seal models made of modelling clay containing sulphur (e.g. plasticine containing sulphur) with PVA or shellac and apply release agent.

Only mould dry models - if you use a release agent, make sure that it has dried well on the model.

Bring component A + component B to room temperature before mixing and prepare all tools clean and dry. The surface and air temperature should be > 15 °C during processing and the entire curing time.

First pour component B into a clean and dry mixing vessel made of metal or plastic. Add the appropriate amount of component A (mixing ratio 100:100 by weight). Mix thoroughly, avoiding the formation of bubbles if possible. Then apply the mixture immediately and quickly to the model and allow to harden at room temperature. The model can be removed from the mould after approx. 45 minutes (at 23 °C room temperature); the final curing properties are achieved after approx. seven days.

The room temperature has an effect on the curing time: Heat accelerates the curing process, lower temperatures slow it down. Both components react with moisture, so close the container as quickly as possible after opening.

It is not advisable to apply another layer after one has been poured and dried. There will be no good bonding.
